MLB Props: Total Bases Picks For White Sox-Guardians, Athletics-Rangers

The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians both rank in the top five in Major League Baseball in hits over the last seven days.

The pair of American League Central teams meet each other on Monday and both starting pitchers in the series opener have been susceptible to high concessions of hits.

Cleveland's Cal Quantrill allowed 43 hits since June 1. He conceded eight hits and six runs, three of them were earned, in his last outing against the Detroit Tigers.

Lance Lynn was lit up for at least three earned runs in four of his five starts this season and he allowed five earned runs on six base knocks in his last outing.

The top hitters in both lineups have plenty of experience hitting against both right-handers and there are some eye-popping numbers in those career stats.

Chicago-Cleveland is one of a few games that will be favorable to hitters, but a few can be taken out of the equation since Max Scherzer, Max Fried and Aaron Nola are scheduled to toe the rubber.

MLB Player Props

Andres Gimenez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Andres Gimenez was named one of the American League All-Star reserves on Sunday night.

The Cleveland second baseman could kick off his week with a stellar night at the plate against Lance Lynn, who he has a .333 career batting average against in six at-bats.

Lynn's high hit concession is important for Gimenez's total bases prop since he leads the Guardians in OPS with runners in scoring position at 1.225.

If Jose Ramirez and others reach base against Lynn, Gimenez will be in a great position to knock in runs and potentially help the Guardians break the game open.

Gavin Sheets Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Gavin Sheets enters Cleveland off back-to-back games with a home run, two hits and five total bases.

Sheets has 20 total bases in 30 at-bats in July and he is third behind Jose Abreu and Luis Robert for the most hits on the White Sox roster over the last seven days. Sheets has seven hits in that span. Abreu and Robert have eight each.

Just like Gimenez, Sheets has a .333 career batting average against his opponent on Monday. He also has a solo home run in his career against Cal Quantrill.

Quantrill conceded eight hits in each of his last two starts and he will likely be in for more of the same against the hot White Sox lineup.

Sean Murphy Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

The Oakland-Texas clash is the other gold mine for total bases props that is not the Coors Field game. I'm staying away from the game in Colorado because the over/under is super high and the player prop prices are inflated.

Oakland faces Spencer Howard, who gave up four earned runs on six hits and walked two batters against Baltimore in his last start.

Sean Murphy owns the most hits of any Oakland batter on the road with 40 and he comes into the series with Texas off six total bases versus Houston over the weekend.

Murphy had a trio of multi-hit games during Oakland's last road trip that took it to Kansas City, New York and Seattle. Look for that form to continue against an average right-hander.

Corey Seager Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)

Corey Seager was one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the weekend.

Seager killed the Minnesota Twins pitching staff with a home run in three straight games and a trio of multi-hit games.

Seager and the Rangers face Adrian Martinez, who gave up 15 hits over 9.2 innings in his last two appearances versus Seattle and Toronto.

The Rangers shortstop has a .162 batting average against Oakland this season, but all of those at-bats took place before June 1. Seager has flipped around that form with a terrific start to July that includes a 1.171 OPS and 13 hits.
