MLB Props: Nelson Cruz, Brendan Rodgers, Dansby Swanson, Mookie Betts

German Marquez and Patrick Corbin rank first and fifth in hits allowed in Major League Baseball.

The two pitchers oppose each other on Thursday night inside Nationals Park in what could be the highest-scoring contest of the night.

So of course I had to dive deep into the player prop markets for the Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals.

Juan Soto and C.J. Cron would be the immediate targets for prop bets, but there are a handful of other hitters in each lineup that carry better value at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Thursday MLB Player Props

Overall Record: 12-15

Nelson Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115)

Nelson Cruz has been the hottest hitter in the Washington Nationals lineup over the last week.

Cruz is 11-for-22 with a 1.091 OPS during that stretch and he has a better chance of reaching base through hits than Juan Soto because opposing pitchers have thrown around the superstar slugger.

Cruz could clean up out of the No. 4 hole if German Marquez avoids Soto in certain situations on Thursday night.

I'd rather ride with Washington's hottest bat over a star with a lot of potential to walk.

Brendan Rodgers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Brendan Rodgers has a .500 career batting average in 10 at-bats against Patrick Corbin.

Rodgers enters Nationals Park with a 12-game hitting streak in which he recorded multiple total bases in six contests.

Rodgers has one significant split that worries you and another that puts some comfort into this pick.

He has a .945 OPS against left-handed pitchers, but he owns a .398 OPS on the road.

I'm willing to trust the first of those stats and his previous history against Corbin over the poor road mark.

Dansby Swanson Over 0.5 Total Bases (-130)

This is the biggest steal on the board.

Dansby Swanson has the sixth-best OPS in the majors over the last seven days and he has an extensive history batting against Aaron Nola.

The Atlanta shortstop has nine hits in the series against the Philadelphia Phillies, so why wouldn't you take the risk here knowing you just need one total base.

Atlanta should be one of the best teams for player props on Thursday since Nola owns a 4.18 ERA on the road.

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)

No hitter has a hotter bat over the last week than Mookie Betts.

The Los Angeles Dodgers leadoff man has a 1.767 OPS over the last week and he gets a favorable matchup in Arizona against Humberto Castellanos.

Castellanos allowed 18 hits, eight earned runs and five home runs over 21.2 innings in May. The Dodgers lineup should jump all over the DBacks right-handed starter.
