04.25 MLB Picks: Phillies Have Clear Advantage Against Kyle Freeland

Record: 9-10-2

Happy Monday! We had a decent week last week after hitting on some nice plus money dogs, but the last batch of picks didn’t go nearly as well. Another week of baseball is here and we’re back with some more picks. Admittedly this shorter slate doesn’t have too many plays that I like, but here are a couple for you to take a look at for today.

SFG ML (+170) vs. MIL, 6:10p

To start, both of these teams have been very good early on. The thing about Milwaukee though is that they do it mostly through pitching. The lineup has been awful this season and will likely remain that way throughout. So there will still be spots to bet against the Brewers good pitching at the right price. +170 seems like the right price to me. You get that price on a really good Giants squad that can get to Corbin Burnes and their starting pitcher Sam Long has looked good out of the bullpen. Long likely won’t go, well, long, but that’s just fine when you can continue to hand the ball off to the best bullpen in baseball.

COL vs. PHI RL -1.5 (+100), 6:45p

Although the Phillies were right to be upset with Angel Hernandez behind the plate, it still doesn’t excuse the Phillies for being shut out in last night’s game. It’s only a matter of time before the offense starts to hit its stride, but for now they remain a bit inconsistent. You can pick the Phillies in spots though and tonight seems like a good one. Kyle Freeland has been pummeled to start the season. Now his last start did come in a win against the Phillies, but with the Phillies hitting LHP well this season I think we can expect that to change tonight. Oh, and that Kyle Gibson sure has been good.
