Soccer Selections: Bank on Lewandowski, Salah to score in Champions League

Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah combined for 17 goals in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Two of the most prolific scorers in soccer take the field on Tuesday afternoon looking to confirm spots in the quarterfinal round.

Salah scored one of Liverpool's two second-half goals against Inter in the first leg of the round of 16. Liverpool holds a two-goal lead going into the second leg at Anfield, but that does not mean the Reds will play more conservative.

Lewandowski did not score in the opening leg against RB Salzburg. He could be in the mood to score more on Tuesday since Bayern is tied 1-1 with the Austrian side.

Lewandowski's price to score a goal is too high to take on its own, so that is why I'm pairing him with Salah as one of my plays for Tuesday's pair of games.

Soccer Selections

Overall Record: 116-125

Robert Lewandowski/Mohamed Salah To Score Parlay (+160)

Mohamed Salah to Score (+100)

Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah experienced different first legs in the round of 16.

Lewandowski did not get off a single shot over 90 minutes against RB Salzburg, while Salah scored a key goal for Liverpool to give it a 2-0 lead on aggregate over Inter.

Bayern Munich should be more of an aggressor in its match on Tuesday because it enters the second leg tied with RB Salzburg.

That could result in a ton of pressure from the Bayern front line and plenty of chances for Lewandowski. The Polish forward attempted 18 shots in the three games after the UCL first-leg draw. He put 11 of his 17 shots on target in UCL play.

Salah and Liverpool do not have to be on the front foot in the first half against Inter, but it would help if a goal or two is scored to finish off the Italian side.

Salah scored in all but one of Liverpool's seven UCL matches this season and he should have a few chances to score, especially as the match goes on and Inter presses for goals to get back into the match.

I'm taking Salah to score as a single prop because of the price attached to it and then adding Lewandowski for a parlay to get the best out of his high price of -330 to score a goal.

Bayern Munich (-2.5; +125) vs. RB Salzburg (Over 3.5)

I want to believe in the Salzburg underdog story so bad, but the numbers say that eventually Bayern Munich will take over.

Bayern Munich outscored opponents at home 13-2 in the UCL group stage. Salzburg suffered two losses and a draw away from home in the group stage.

Bayern's defense held each of its three opponents under an expected goals total of one. If one early goal goes in, Bayern could go on to score multiple tallies.

Bayern's attack has been slowed down in recent weeks, as it has a single goal in three of its last four games.

Tuesday's match feels like the perfect time for Bayern to break out of its average spell in front of net and make a statement that it is still the team to beat in the Champions League.
