The ACC standings have been crowded at the top for weeks, but now there is a real opportunity for teams to take the regular-season crown away from Duke.
Duke's loss to Virginia on Monday put it level with Notre Dame in the loss column. Wake Forest and Miami are only one game behind in the loss column.
Notre Dame, Wake Forest and Miami are all in action on Wednesday and two of them are in terrific spots to cover the spread.
If all the favorites win, we could be set up for a fantastic final few weeks in which one result can change the entire complexion of the ACC standings.
I'm on a pair of those ACC games as well as a few other favorites on a mostly chalky night from my perspective.
Wednesday CBB Picks
Overall Record: 176-194-2 (6-1 Tuesday)
Columbia at Cornell (-14) (5 p.m. ET, ESPN+)
Columbia is on a six-game losing streak in which it has lost every contest by nine or more points.
Columbia ranks below 330th in a handful of defensive metrics and that could cause a ton of trouble against the third-ranked tempo offense owned by Cornell.
Cornell ranks 20th in two-point percentage on KenPom and it averages 12 more points per game than the Lions. The Big Red should win pretty easily.
Xavier at Seton Hall (-3) (7 p.m. ET, FS1)
Xavier lost three of its last five games with the most-recent loss coming to DePaul.
The Musketeers were also pushed to the brink by Butler last Wednesday.
Xavier is also 2-8 against the spread in its last 10 games.
All of those numbers make me less than confident in betting on Xavier on the road against Seton Hall.
Louisville at Notre Dame (-7) (7 p.m. ET, ESPNU)
Notre Dame beat Louisville by 12 points in their first meeting at the Yum! Center on January 22.
Since then, the Cardinals fired their coach and have suffered four more losses, all of which were by seven or more points.
Louisville's two road losses in that span were both by double figures.
Notre Dame is playing solid basketball at the moment and it can take first place in the ACC with a win. The Irish are the better team and simply they have more to play for on Wednesday.
Wake Forest (-3) at NC State (7 p.m. ET, ACC Network)
Wake Forest is also still in the mix for the ACC regular-season title after Duke suffered a home loss to Virginia on Monday.
The Demon Deacons have won six of their last seven games and they face a struggling NC State squad on Wednesday.
NC State suffered four straight losses by seven points or more, three of those losses came to Notre Dame and North Carolina.
The Wolfpack have not played well against the top tier of the ACC and that should show again versus Wake Forest.
Tulane (+10) at Memphis (8 p.m. ET, ESPN+)
I'm still not ready to trust Memphis, especially with a 10-point spread against a decent team.
Tulane scored 97 and 86 points in two of its last three victories and it is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games.
The Green Wave can be competitive with Memphis because they rank 41st in three-point percentage.
Tulane may not win, but it should remain close with the Tigers for 40 minutes because of its offense.
Wright State (-7.5) at Green Bay (8 p.m. ET, ESPN+)
Wright State is playing well near the top of the Horizon League.
The Raiders have won three games in a row, all by double figures, and they face a struggling Green Bay side on Wednesday.
Green Bay lost three of its last four games by double figures and it averages 14 fewer points per game than its Wednesday opponent.
