NBA 3-Point Play: Bam Adebayo, Klay Thompson, Donovan Mitchell

Bam Adebayo faces one of the best individual matchups on Monday's five-game NBA slate.

The Washington Wizards have been awful against opposing big men recently and Adebayo has a chance to feast on his opponent's defense.

Washington gave up 64 rebounds to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday and Joel Embiid pulled down 14 boards for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Adebayo will benefit from the matchup more if Jimmy Butler is out because of the scoring gap that will open up, but even if Butler plays, the Miami big man should feast in the paint.

NBA 3-Point Play

Overall Record: 39-39 (3-0 Sunday)

Bam Adebayo Over 31.5 Points and Rebounds

Bam Adebayo should be the next frontcourt star to kill the Washington Wizards defense.

Deandre Ayton and Joel Embiid recorded double-doubles against Washington in the last two games and Adebayo comes into Monday on a three-game double-double streak.

Adebayo is averaging 23.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game to start February. I went after Adebayo's points and rebounds combo prop because he could have something like an 18-14 or 24-10 game and not go over his individual stat props.

Adebayo hit 29 and 21 on this combo in two November meetings with the Wizards, but their frontcourt defense has gotten worse since then. Omer Yurtseven had 10 points and 14 rebounds without Adebayo in the lineup on December 28.

If you go back further over the last week, Washington gave up 15 rebounds each to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Steven Adams.

Adebayo should feast down low and it would be wise of the Miami guards to feed him early and often in this mismatch.

Klay Thompson Over 2.5 Threes

Klay Thompson hit seven threes in his last trip to the hardwood on Thursday.

The Golden State Warriors come into Oklahoma City well rested and ready to cruise past a depleted roster.

Thompson attempted either eight or nine three-point shots in each of his last four games and he faces an OKC defense that allowed 26 three-point makes to Dallas and Sacramento in two of the last three games. The Friday matchup with Portland has to be thrown away because the Blazers just made a trade.

Thompson will have plenty of chances to shoot past the OKC defense with the hope of a blowout being in place by the start of the fourth quarter.

Donovan Mitchell Over 4.5 Assists

Donovan Mitchell had 27 points, six assists and three rebounds in his return to the court on Friday versus Brooklyn.

Mitchell averaged 5.6 assists per game in January before he went into concussion protocol and missed two weeks of action.

The Utah Jazz superstar had at least four assists in eight of last nine contests, and he could be more active in the passing game against the New York Knicks if their defense hones in on him.

Utah has plenty of other shooters that can hurt the Knicks and do not be surprised if one of Mike Conley or Bojan Bogdanovic has a nice night courtesy of Mitchell.
