Soccer Selections: Bayern Munich bounce-back spot, West Ham, Lazio, more

It's time to bring back my favorite type of European soccer play.

The Bayern Munich bounce-back game.

Bayern Munich rarely loses, and when it does, it typically comes back with a vengeance. That has been the case the first two times the Bundesliga leader faced a league opponent following a defeat.

The Bundesliga is where this week's Soccer Selections begin. Bayern is a good position to bounce back against FC Koln and second-place Borussia Dortmund needs a win on Friday to keep pace.

That is where the rare parlay that I post in this article got motivation from.

Soccer Selections

Overall Record: 87-97

Bundesliga: Erling Haaland/Robert Lewandowski To Score Parlay (+108)

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski are hard to bet by themselves as anytime goal scorers.

They typically have lines of -200 or higher attached to them, so this is way to get value out of both players.

Haaland is due for a goal (which is crazy to say). He has not scored in three of his last four games. Dortmund needs him on point in Friday's top-four clash with Freiburg.

Lewandowski is an absolute machine and he is the more reliable part of this parlay. Lewandowski and Bayern need to get back on track on Saturday with a win over FC Koln. That's all the motivation I need to predict the Polish forward will score.

Bundesliga: FC Koln vs. Bayern Munich (-1.5; -115) (Saturday, 9:30 a.m. ET)

Bayern Munich is back in a bounce-back spot.

Bayern unexpectedly lost at home to Borussia Monchengladbach last week and it has had eight days to fester over the result.

The Bundesliga leader has been in this situation three times already this season. Bayern produced wins of 5-1, 5-2 and 2-1 in those situations. The first two instances occurred in league play.

Serie A: Salernitana vs. Lazio (-1.5; +140) (Saturday, Noon. ET)

Lazio should cruise on the road against the worst team in Serie A.

Lazio scored three goals in four of its last seven games and it won three of those contest by a 3-1 score.

Salernitana carries the worst goal differential in Serie A and four of its last five losses were by multiple goals.

EPL: Wolves vs. Southampton (+235) (Saturday, 10 a.m. ET)

I can't trust Wolves on a money line bet right now because they can't score.

Wolves have the second-worst scoring record in the Premier League ahead of last-place Norwich City. They also have the second-best defensive mark, which is why they sit in eighth place.

Southampton has been able to score lately. The Saints just put four goals past Brentford on Tuesday and they pocketed three goals on the road at West Ham United.

A win over Wolves would be massive for the 11th-placed club. The Saints face Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester Untied in their next three league matches.

EPL: West Ham United (-155) vs. Leeds United (Sunday, 9 a.m. ET)

If West Ham United wants to be a top-four club, it must beat Leeds United at home.

The Hammers sit in fourth place with a two-point gap ahead of Arsenal and four points in front of Tottenham. A loss by either team in the North London Derby on Sunday creates some breathing room for David Moyes' side.

Leeds is headed for a relegation fight. The club only has two league victories since the start of November and one of them came against 18th-placed Burnley.

A prop to consider for this game is Jarrod Bowen to score, or assist, for West Ham. He has four goals and three assists in his last six matches.
