Joel Embiid is chasing history on Friday night.
Embiid can become the first Philadelphia 76ers player to record 30 points in nine consecutive games.
The Sixers big man barely got to eight straight 30-point performances in Wednesday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets, but he was able to tie Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain.
Embiid can break the record against the Boston Celtics, who he has had plenty of standout performances against in the last two seasons.
Embiid's points prop was under 30 points as of Friday afternoon, so you guessed it, that's where the NBA 3-Point Play is starting.
NBA 3-Point Play
Overall Record: 15-14 (2-1 Thursday)
Joel Embiid Over 29.5 Points
Joel Embiid crossed the 30-point threshold in four of his last five matchups with the Boston Celtics.
That is well above his average of 26.6 points per game versus the Eastern Conference franchise.
The Sixers and Celtics should be involved in a back-and-forth affair in which the stars come out to play. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown come into the Wells Fargo Center hot after they combined to shoot 11-for-20 from three-point range against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
Embiid should have ample opportunities to go after the Boston frontcourt players and he may be forced into scoring well over 30 points if Brown and Tatum go off again.
Kyle Lowry Over 9.5 Assists
Kyle Lowry faces a dream matchup for any point guard against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks give up the most assists per game in the NBA and they are awful defending shooting guards.
Miami has an abundance of shooting guards in Max Strus, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson that can knock down shots following passes from Lowry.
Lowry averages 8.3 assists per game and he hit that total in four of his last five games. He only had five handouts against Atlanta on Wednesday, but I don't foresee Omer Yurtseven handing out six assists again.
Miami had 28 assists and knocked down 16 three-pointers in Wednesday's win over Atlanta. If those totals remain near the same levels, Lowry should have ample opportunities to reach the 10-assist mark.
Miles Bridges Over 7.5 Rebounds
I love a lot of the props in the Orlando Magic-Charlotte Hornets matchup.
Charlotte should win in a landslide, but it is coming off a big win over the Sixers and it still gives up the second-most points per game in the NBA. Orlando is getting back to full strength and should at least challenge the Hornets for a half.
Miles Bridges' rebound prop won out as my favorite from this game. Bridges is averaging 7.7 rebounds per game in January and he pulled down nine boards in his last meeting with the Magic on November 24.
Both teams should throw up a ton of shots, so there will be plenty of chances for Bridges to boost his rebounding total.
