NBA 3-Point Play: Fred VanVleet, Klay Thompson, Nikola Vucevic

Fred VanVleet is playing at one of the highest individual levels in the NBA right now.

The Toronto Raptors star should be a lock to make the All-Star Team after how well he has played in the lead scorer role.

VanVleet is not only taking over games whenever he wants, but he is also going way over his point prop in almost every game.

It feels like I'm stealing money from the sportsbooks tonight betting VanVleet at Over 22.5 points since his recent surge has taken him well over 30 points per contest.

That's where the NBA 3-Point Play must start tonight, with VanVleet in a starring role against the Phoenix Suns.

NBA 3-Point Play

Overall Record: 9-12 (2-1 Monday)

Fred VanVleet Over 22.5 Points (-116)

Fred VanVleet is averaging 30.6 points over his last eight games.

VanVleet reached the 30-point mark in all but one of those contests.

VanVleet is red hot from three-point range, where he has 31 makes in five January games. VanVleet is averaging 6.2 three-point makes on 13.2 shots from deep per contest this month.

That is an absolutely absurd amount for anyone in the NBA, even Stephen Curry.

So yeah I would expect to see VanVleet in this space for every game he plays until he cools off.

Klay Thompson Over 2.5 Threes (-142)

Klay Thompson knocked down a trio of three-point shots in his long-awaited return on Sunday.

Expect Thompson to continue to shoot at a high volume from deep to get into a full in-game rhythm.

Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have an ideal matchup for their style of play against the Memphis Grizzlies, who give up the fifth-most three-point makes in the NBA.

Memphis allowed at least 10 three-point makes in each of its last four games and Golden State went 19-for-40 from deep when the two sides last met on December 23.

Nikola Vucevic Over 29.5 Points/Rebounds (-104)

The Chicago Bulls should easily put away the Detroit Pistons.

Detroit is on the second leg of a back-to-back set of games. The Pistons put a ton of energy into a strong second half against the Utah Jazz on Monday night.

The Pistons won despite getting torched in the paint by Hassan Whiteside, who had 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Nikola Vucevic has 30 points and 34 rebounds in his two games against the Pistons this season. He should post high totals again on Tuesday night.

Vucevic is averaging 16 points and 12.3 rebounds to start January. He will at least have another high rebounding total because of Detroit's players shooting with tired legs.

Vucevic should easily get to 30 points and rebounds against one of the worst teams when it comes to defending big men.
