Soccer Selections: Expect Goals Out Of Bayern, Dortmund, Arsenal Games

Bayern Munich went from a tight Bundesliga title race to cruise control on the way to another championship in the German league in the last two weeks.

Bayern Munich heads into a rare midweek slate in the Bundesliga with a six-point lead over Borussia Dortmund. Bayern created that gap through a head-to-head win over Dortmund and a victory combined with a Dortmund draw over the weekend.

The top team in Germany will get Stuttgart's best shot on Tuesday, but that might not anywhere close to good enough for an upset to happen .

Stuttgart gives up one of the highest goal totals in home games and Bayern has a strong record against it in recent years.

The rest of the games on the midweek European slate should be more competitive than a potential Bayern blowout in the early Tuesday window.

Wolfsburg needs to get back on track in the Bundesliga, Dortmund needs a bounce-back performance and Arsenal faces a tough test for its top-four hopes in the English Premier League.

Soccer Selections

Overall Record: 81-86 (4-4 weekend record)

Stuttgart vs. Bayern Munich (-1.5) (Tuesday, 12:30 p.m., ESPN+)

Bayern Munich scored at least three goals in each of its last five matches against Stuttgart.

That trend should continue into Tuesday since Stuttgart gives up the third most goals in home matches in the Bundesliga.

Stuttgart has not held a clean sheet in any of its home league matches and it conceded multiple tallies on four occasions.

Bayern's attack should overwhelm the Stuttgart back line to create plenty of chances, which should lead to a multi-goal victory and three more points in the title race.

Wolfsburg (+125) vs. FC Koln (Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+)

Wolfsburg has been one of the most frustrating clubs this season.

The Wolves won four straight games, then went on an eight-game winless run and fired their coach, they won three straight off the new manager bump and then lost five in a row.

The good news for Wolfsburg is it is facing a team that it typically plays well against at home. Wolfsburg owns three straight home wins over FC Koln.

Koln is 0-4-3 on the road in league play with a -8 goal differential. That is the best matchup possible for Wolfsburg to get off its latest losing run.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Greuther Furth (Over 3.5) (Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+)

Borussia Dortmund has the perfect chance to break its two-game winless streak in league play against the worst team in Germany.

Greuther Furth won its first game of the league campaign over the weekend, but its poor start put it 13 points back of safety in the relegation race.

Greuther Furth has given up 17 more goals than any other team in the Bundesliga and that presents a recipe for success for Erling Haaland and Co. to put up a ton of goals at home.

Arsenal vs. West Ham United (Over 2.5) (Wednesday, 3 p.m. ET, NBCSN)

West Ham United has been involved in some crazy matches against some of the best teams in the Premier League.

The Hammers' league games with Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all had three goals or more.

Arsenal has had the Over 2.5 goals hit in four of its last five contests, and the Gunners put up multiple goals in three of their last four matches.

Even with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not in the matchday squad, Arsenal has plenty of firepower up top, led by Alexandre Lacazette, while West Ham boasts a strong attack led by Michail Antonio.
