Philadelphia Union finish July road swing against Inter Miami

The Philadelphia Union finish their July road swing on Sunday when they visit Inter Miami CF.

Coverage of the game begins at 7 p.m. ET with the Union Pregame Show presented by DraftKings Sportsbook with Jon Jansen and Joe Tansey. The game broadcast follows at 7:30 p.m. ET. Kevin Kinkead joins Jansen and Tansey after kickoff on the Union Postgame Show.

On paper, Sunday's trip to DRV PNK Stadium appears to be the perfect bounce-back game for the Union. Philadelphia is coming off a 2-1 loss to Orlando City on Thursday night.

Inter Miami experienced a loss as well during its midweek match, but the result was much worse in the form of a 5-0 defeat to the New England Revolution.

Miami is the only team in Major League Soccer with fewer than 10 points. The Herons own a 2-8-2 overall record and they have not picked up three points from any of their six home contests.

One of Inter Miami's two regular-season victories came at Subaru Park against the Union on April 24. That match occurred in the middle of the Union's run to the Concacaf Champions League quarterfinals. Miami's only other victory came against FC Cincinnati on May 16.

Since then, the second-year side has scored once in a six-match span. Chicago, Orlando, New England, CF Montreal and D.C. United (twice) have blanked Inter Miami during that run.

Philadelphia comes into Sunday without a clean sheet in the last five matches. The Union have not been shutout in four of those five matches.

Jim Curtin's side owns a 2-2-4 road record and it sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. There is just three points separating the Union and second-place Nashville SC.

If the Union win on Sunday, they will move back up to third place over Orlando City and the Columbus Crew. Nashville owns a superior goal differential over the Union at the moment.

Curtin should use some rotation within his squad with the short turnaround in the Florida heat. Leon Flach is the most likely starter to come in from Thursday's bench. Alejandro Bedoya has played the second-most minutes of any Union midfielder in league play. Only Jamiro Monteiro spent more time on the pitch.

Ilsinho and Anthony Fontana likely will not start, but both should be available off the bench. Each player is listed as questionable on the player availability report.

Andre Blake, Cory Burke and Alvas Powell may be available to start August if Jamaica loses to the United States men's national team in the Concacaf Gold Cup on Sunday night. That match kicks off around 10 p.m. ET.
