Mark Drumheller (@x_drumheller): NFL picks for Week 15.
EAGLES +6.5 over CARDINALS. Philadelphia ran for 246 yards against the best run defense in the NFL last week. Arizona's defense is 21st in allowing explosive run plays. The Eagles will be able to dictate the game script and put Kyle Murray on his back with their pass rush that ranks #1 in the NFL in sack rate. The Eagles are weak in the secondary but Arizona has performed poorly against teams that rank outside of the top 25 in defensive passing success rate allowed. Murray was held to 133 yards in a 10 point loss to Carolina, threw 3 interceptions in a loss to Detroit, and most recently was 2-7 in the red zone last week against the punchless Giants. The Eagles are primed to a run and getting 6.5 points against a team that lost four of it's last six games is a gift. Merry Christmas Philadelphia.
BILLS -5 over BRONCOS. Buffalo was won seven of it's last eight and covered the spread in each of their last five games. Seven or their tens wins have come by seven points or more, and the last four have come by ten points or more. Denver signing players off the street to fill their needs in the secondary. Need I say more?
PANTHERS +8.5 over PACKERS. Carolina is 7-3 as an underdog this season and much of that is due to their ability to hold the ball with the short passing game and shorten the game. These two teams rank 28th and 32nd in pace of play for the season. That's means very few possessions for each team so the points here become increasingly more valuable. I like points and value. Take Carolina.
BROWNS -6 over GIANTS. The Browns are coming off back to back 40+ point performances against two playoff-calibur teams and have racked up 30+ points seven times this season. That number would be probably be nine if they didn't play Houston and Las Vegas in 30mph winds. The Giants averaged 3.2 yards per play against Arizona and are considering starting Colt McCoy. Defensively they are 31st in the NFL against the rush on early downs. Chubb and Baker will do as they please.
SEAHAWKS -5.5 over FOOTBALL TEAM. Washington has terrible this season against good teams with good offenses. They lost four straight games by at least 14 points each to Arizona, Cleveland, Baltimore, and the Rams earlier in the season before they beefed up their stats against the NFC East. Even Detroit sizzled them for 30 in a game they lost. Washington got outgained by SF 344-193 and now they are looking to Dwayne Haskins to keep pace with Russell Wilson. Seattle in a route.
Tony "Jigsaw" Cutillo (@TCutillo23):
Week 15 Stars....
Jared Goff - (NYJ): The Rams host the hapless Jets who have given up 12 TDs in the last 5 weeks to opposing QBs. Time for Goff to eat!
Gus Edwards - (JAX): The Gus Bus has been on fire lately with a line of 14 carries, 150 yards, and 2 TDs. Grab your ticket today!
Brandon Aiyuk - (@DAL): This line --> 56 Targets, 500 yards, 3 TDs in the last 5 games, and no Deebo!
Week 15 Stiffs....
Tua Time - (NE): Bill always targets the best player on each team and NE gives up the 6th fewest points to opposing fantasy QBs. Be careful............
James Conner - (@CIN): James has been running in quicksand all year and Pittsburgh can't get any kind of running game going. They are also averaging 50+ pass attempts over the last 3 weeks.
Zeke Elliot - (SF): Zeke is more worried about playing Madden and has packed it in already.
Jarvis Landry - (@NYG): The Giants have a stingy Defense and this could be a run-heavy gameplan to keep Baker safe.
Victor Williams (@ThePhillyPod): Jalen Hurts and the Eagles look to keep their playoff hopes alive against Arizona on Sunday. The Eagles starting corners heading into the game will be Nickell Robey-Coleman, Kevon Seymour & Jameson Houston with Darius Slay out due to a concussion. They have a tall task ahead of them in trying to stop DeAndre Hopkins & Christian Kirk.
Hurts will try to replicate his performance from last week after rushing for 100+ yards in his debut. After a stellar performance last week, Haason Reddick in particular who had 5 sacks, the Cardinals defense will try to nullify Hurts and the Eagles rushing attack.
