Soccer Selections: Expert Picks for Juventus-Lazio, FA Cup, More

The Serie A title race should have been put away weeks ago.

Juventus was on a clear path to lifting the trophy until it suffered a 4-2 loss to AC Milan. Since then, the Bianconeri have drawn two games and allowed Atalanta, Inter Milan and Lazio to sneak into the competition.

If any chaos is to occur between now and August 2, Lazio needs to beat Juventus Monday in the biggest game of the European soccer weekend.

But that will not be an easy task for Lazio, who has dropped from second to fourth due to putrid form since the restart.

Lazio has earned one point from its last four contests, which has allowed Atalanta and Inter, both of whom have put goals into the net at will recently, to move into contention.

Atalanta and Inter can put pressure on Juventus with victories Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

At minimum, the two sides should be intriguing to watch since they are best scoring sides in Serie A.

The Premier League takes a back seat this weekend with the FA Cup semifinals going on between four of the most notable clubs in England.

La Liga finishes up its season Sunday with little drama left after Real Madrid secured the championship Thursday.

If you need more soccer drama in your life, keep an eye on the Championship, the second division in England, where West Bromwich Albion and Brentford are batting for the second automatic promotion spot behind Leeds United.

The two teams are separated by a single point and finishing third would force the club to maneuver through a four-team playoff to gain promotion.

As always, our picks come from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Joe Tansey

Record: 54-59 (4-4 midweek record)

Juventus vs. Lazio

It’s understandable if you do not want to pick either team in this matchup based off their form.

Juve needs to keep six points between itself and Inter, and if it does, it would essentially eliminate Lazio from the title race.

Although the Bianconeri have struggled lately, they are still in better shape than Lazio, who is coming off a goalless draw with Udinese.

Pick: Juventus (-150)

Hellas Verona vs. Atalanta

Betting Atalanta overs is the safest thing you can do in soccer wagering right now.

The most exciting team in Serie A put up six goals on on Brescia and is seven tallies away from hitting 100 for the season.

Atalanta has outscored Saturday opponent Hellas Verona 11-2 in their last three meetings.

Pick: Over 3.5 (+107)

Roma vs. Inter

Inter has barrelled through most of its opponents like a freight train since the restart.

The high-scoring results have put the Nerazzurri within reach of Juventus, and if they want any chance of winning the Serie A crown, they have to put away Roma Sunday.

Pick: Inter (+123)

Norwich City vs. Burnley

Burnley is riding a six-game unbeaten run and sits in plus money as a favorite against already-relegated Norwich City.

This seems like a straightforward bet with the Clarets looking to secure a top-10 finish in the Premier League and the Canaries bound for the Championship.

Pick: Burnley (+120)

Stoke City vs. Brentford

Brentford is the hottest team in soccer you do not know about.

The third-place side in the Championship is on an eight-game winning streak and faces a fairly easy matchup with Stoke City.

Brentford sits at a decent price for the disparity in this matchup, and it is hard to ignore this hot of a hand.

Pick: Brentford (-157)

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Homer pick incoming.

Manchester United is rolling toward a top-four position in the Premier League and has been scoring at a high clip.

Sunday’s FA Cup semifinal is also intriguing from a player prop perspective. Keep an eye on Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic to score.

Pick: Manchester United (+138); Mason Greenwood to score (+270)

Larry Henry Jr.

Record: 42-58 (0-7 midweek record)

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Manchester United will put its push for a top-four finish in the Premier League on hold as FA Cup play resumes this weekend.

The Red Devils face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Sunday looking to play in August's Final. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have won three consecutive matches against the Blues, including a 2-0 semifinal triumph in last season's competition.

I like the Red Devils to advance.

Pick: Manchester United (+138)

West Ham United vs. Watford

West Ham United and Watford are level on points, but both could take a massive step toward league survival with a win Friday.

David Moyes' Hammers relegated Norwich City last weekend after a 4-0 win at Carrow Road. Michail Antonio became the first player in club history to score four goals in a single match.

Watford defeated Norwich City and Newcastle United in back-to-back league matches, but has struggled recently against the Hammers. West Ham has won back-to-back matchups against Watford, outscoring them 7-2.

I'm riding with West Ham to take a closer step towards survival.

Pick: West Ham United (+135)

Norwich City vs. Burnley

Norwich City could not avoid an eighth consecutive loss midweek at Chelsea.

The Canaries will try to end a horrid losing run against Burnley Saturday. Burnley is coming off a 1-1 draw versus Wolverhampton Wanderers thanks to Chris Wood's stoppage time penalty kick equalizer.

The Clarets are riding a six-match unbeaten run and are 2-1-2 in their last five against the Canaries. Riding with the better team here.

Pick: Burnley (+120)

Juventus vs. Lazio

Juventus can take a major step toward a ninth-consecutive league title with a win over Lazio Monday.

Back-to-back draws against Atalanta and Sassuolo haven't been the worst results for Juventus.

Lazio has won back-to-back meetings with Juventus, but extending that run could be tough after failing to win in four-straight league matches.

Pick: Juventus (-150)

Cagliari vs. Sassuolo

Sassuolo, who is unbeaten in seven matches, remains in the mix for a Europa League spot. I expect the visitors to roll with three points against Cagliari.

Pick: Sassuolo (+112)

Huddersfield Town vs. West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion could seal automatic promotion back to the Premier League with a win at Huddersfield Town paired with a Brentford defeat.

The Baggies are 3-3-1 since the restart of league play and rolled past the Terriers 4-2 back in September.

Pick: West Bromwich Albion (-152)

Two-Team Parlay: Fulham and Wigan Athletic (+286)

Fulham and Wigan Athletic are two of the best in-form sides in the Championship. Both teams earned at least three wins from their last five matches.

Fulham takes on Sheffield Wednesday at Craven Cottage while Wigan Athletic visits relegation threatened Charlton Athletic. Based on recent form, I like both teams to win this weekend.
