The Philadelphia Union will try to secure home-field advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs on Sunday against Toronto FC.
Pregame coverage of Sunday's match at Subaru Park begins at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports The Gambler with Jon Jansen and Joe Tansey and it is presented by DraftKings Sportsbook. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:55 p.m. ET. The Postgame Show begins directly after the final whistle.
The Union need a win over Toronto FC, or dropped points from CF Montreal against Inter Miami to secure the top spot in the East.
Jim Curtin's side is is 11-0-5 inside Subaru Park and it plays a Toronto side that has already been eliminated from postseason contention.
The Union come into the match with 64 points, while Montreal heads into its clash with Miami on 62 points. If Montreal wins and the Union draw, the Canadian side would leapfrog the Union for the No. 1 seed on the wins tiebreaker.
Philadelphia gained more motivation to win on Sunday because of the Leagues Cup structure that was announced on Thursday. The Union can be the top seeded team in the group stage draw if they finish second to LAFC in the Supporters' Shield standings if LAFC wins MLS Cup. If neither team wins MLS Cup, the Union could be the No. 2 seed in the group stage draw, which would give them matchups with weaker teams in the new MLS-Liga MX competition.
The Union will be without left back Kai Wagner, who is suspended due to the red card he was issued against Charlotte FC last Saturday. Matt Real will start in his place.
Alejandro Bedoya's status is also in question, but he has trained with the club over the last few days and will push for minutes on Sunday through his work in training on Friday and Saturday.
