Jack De Vries has been on loan at Venezia from the Philadelphia Union since August.
The European season recently came to an end and De Vries' future in Europe will be decided over the next few weeks, per Union head coach Jim Curtin.
"Jack has turned some heads in Italy," Curtin told The Gambler's Pregame Show. "There's some real interest in purchasing him. We'll see what happens. Probably some answers one way or the other in the coming weeks with that one."
"I think they'll be some things to announce and some decisions to be made on specifically Jack's future with where he stands with the club," Curtin said. "He went over there and scored some goals and did really well. They are high on him. Decisions have to get made on their end and if there's a solution that suits both sides, we'll make that happen."
De Vries primarily played for Venezia's U19 side in the Primavera division in Italy. He made a brief cameo with the first team during the Coppa Italia.
Venezia's first team played in Serie A in the recently completed European season. Venezia was relegated to Serie B and it has some other American connections.
There is an American ownership stake in the club and the Italian side brought in Gianluca Busio from Sporting Kansas City and Tanner Tessmann out of FC Dallas for the Serie A season.
